Hello people, I decided to make a topic about newer game releases and how the compare to industry standards.
Let me begin:
The good: Skyrim
Although the opening cart ride was a bit dull, the overall presentation and execution of this game is mostly flawless bringing a new, beautiful world to your fingertips for you to explore.
The bad: Brink
The concept in itself was good and the design was decent, but on multiplayer (where it truly was to shine) brought a scowl to my face. Horrible server hosting, uncooperative teammates and glitchy level design which caused (at times) mass confusion. This game is bad, and it knows it.
The ugly: Tron Legacy
A game many wish for greatness and failed greatly. The only part of this game that was remotely good was the light cycle section, and even then the game fails. Clunky controls, bad camera angles and clunky level design, this game screams ugly, if only to be painted under a luminous facade.

The Good: Batman: Arkham City. Holy shaq, this game is huge. It took everything good from Arkham Asylum, made it better, and expanded the world to dizzying proportions.
The Bad: Fable 3. This series has just gone downhill. The first was fun, the second was pretty good, but the third one made me sad.
The Ugly: Duke Nukem Forever. What a fucking letdown. I was so hype, but even the king couldn't cheer me up from this snoozefest. I had to go play Duke Nukem 3D to make me remember how great he used to be.

I've been enjoying Tron Evolution, but the truth is it is probably because I loved Tron Legacy so much. They really wanted that feeling of free running, but instead you end up falling to your death a lot. The light cycle sections are way better.
The biggest problem I have with the game is that the devs were afraid to go outside the boundaries of the movie as far as the way it looks. While it is very pretty, everything looks the same. Think about how the caves and ruins looked in Oblivion. They all looked the same, similar situation here.
